Arrangement description

For years, this flat had been a collection of random decisions made by previous owners – it functioned, but failed to meet the real needs of its new residents. Designer Tomasz Pągowski played a key role in this transformation; he not only organised the space but, above all, gave it meaning and coherence. It was his experience that allowed him to see the potential where chaos in layout, materials and colour schemes had previously reigned. The first step was to remove the partitions that were unnecessarily breaking up the interior. A continuous floor brought the areas together, allowing the living room and dining room to form a seamless whole. This decision not only streamlined the aesthetic but also significantly improved the comfort of everyday life. There is no television here – its place is taken by a projector, which helps maintain the lightness of the design, whilst the wall becomes a backdrop for evenings spent together. The colour? The faded colour of the clay. Delicate, soft, featured on both the walls and the ceiling. It is this colour that creates the atmosphere – warm, calm, with a subtle boho touch. Depth is added by a darker shade near the windows and hemp-coloured curtains, which complement the interior’s natural character. There was no room in the flat for a classic hallway, so the designer used a built-in wardrobe as a way to subtly demarcate the entrance area – without closing off the space, but maintaining its clarity. The lighting forms the foundation of the entire composition here – designed in layers and with a keen focus on functionality. The base is provided by the white CTLS track system, which organises the space and offers complete flexibility in terms of layout. Thanks to adapters from the Cameleon system, it was possible to fit decorative Pumpkin luminaires – light, openwork forms that not only illuminate but also define the character of the interior. These are complemented by Fourty wall lights, which introduce soft, atmospheric light. The existing floor-level light points have been given a new, more cohesive form, allowing the lighting to work on multiple levels – both functional and atmospheric. The new furnishings – a large, beige sofa, light bookcases and carefully selected accessories – are no accident. Every element has been deliberately incorporated into the concept created by the designer. It is precisely this consistency that ensures the interior functions as a whole, rather than a collection of individual solutions. This is one of those projects that demonstrate that the problem often lies not in the interior itself, but in its organisation – the layout, proportions and design decisions. And then someone comes along who knows what goes with what and where. And suddenly everything starts to work. The end result is best summed up by the words of the household members: “It’s so beautiful here".
