The inspiring event provides an opportunity to learn about the trends that will shape the world of design in the coming months and even years. Our creative director, Małgorzata Nowodworska, talks about her impressions of this year's fair.

The colour palette that dominated the fair

The dominant colours of this edition are red terracotta and sage shade, which bring energy and freshness to the interiors. ‘The whole palette of coffee colours will continue to be popular, from soft beiges to intense cappuccino to distinctive chocolate, which have also found their way into the décor.’ The combination of these warm tones creates a cohesive and cosy atmosphere in a variety of rooms - from kitchens and bathrooms to living rooms and outdoor spaces.

Textiles and fabrics - cosy and elegant

Boucle is a fabric that has definitely dominated this year's exhibitions. It comes from a French word meaning 'loop' or 'something curly', which perfectly describes its texture that adds softness and subtlety to interiors. ‘Appearing on decorations, lounge furniture, armchairs and chaise longues, it creates a cosy and stylish atmosphere. In arrangements, boucle has often appeared in juxtaposition with linen, wood and the natural stone travertine.’

Wood continues to hold a strong position in the world of design, both in small details and in larger elements, especially in the form with glass showcases that are increasingly appearing in designs. For followers of this natural motif, our lamp collections such as Sunset and Ring Timber Led XXL are more than just a light source - they are decorative elements that bring warmth and character to any interior.

Forms that attracted attention - from the interior to the garden

Diverse forms with soft lines have been a trend in the design world for some time now. ‘These are mainly rounded and asymmetrical shapes seen on sofas, armchairs, tables, coffee tables, wall decorative elements acting as wall sconces, carpets, which give interiors a modern look.’ In the world of garden furniture, this trend manifests itself in the use of soft, undulating shapes that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional and durable, ideally suited to outdoor spaces. A continuation of this theme, can be seen in our Stone garden lamps, which, imitating the shapes of stones, work in harmony with the soft lines to emphasise the stylish character of the arrangement.

Harmony and minimalism

The Japandi style, which is a combination of Scandinavian minimalism and a Japanese sense of aesthetics, was present in many of the displays at the fair. ‘Wallpaper played an important role in the Japandi style arrangements, highlighting the character of these spaces.’ In our range, you will find Haiti, Rattan and Japandi lamps that fit perfectly into this style, distinguished by its simplicity, functionality and love of natural materials and muted colours.

Light and form

Although this year's Salone del Mobile did not focus mainly on lighting, some lighting compositions effectively complemented the fair's arrangements. ‘A particularly interesting decorative accent, were the cone-shaped lamps of various sizes, which, with their simple design, did not overwhelm the space, but actually complemented it, adding lightness and a modern touch.’ If the aesthetic of subtle forms is your style, Zenith lamps, will be the perfect choice for you.

‘Thinking Room’ by David Lynch

The Salone del Mobile fair not only attracted design lovers, but also fans of David Lynch - director of such productions as Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks. He presented the installation 'Thinking Room', where visitors could relax, sitting on a huge wooden chair at a desk against a background of abstractly patterned floor and dark blue textured walls. The purpose of this space, was to record their thoughts, which served to 'renovate or revolutionise their souls'.

The Salone del Mobile in Milan is not just a fair - it is a place where the future of design becomes the present.
