The most anticipated event in the world of design is behind us - the Salone del Mobile.Milano fair, and with it the Euroluce biennial. For six days, the exhibition spaces in the halls of the Fiera Milano were bursting at the seams, filled with hundreds of thousands of visitors and tons of design of the highest order. Could we have missed it? You know the answer!
More than 2,000 brands from 37 countries around the world, almost 308,000 visitors wandering the miles-long avenues of the small design town that is the halls of Fiera Milano. This year, at the 61st edition of the Salone del Mobile, we were once again able to convince ourselves of the event's established position in the international design arena. Anyone who had the opportunity to visit Milan between 18 and 23 April 2023 will certainly attest to the huge success that was the fair and the accompanying Euroluce biennial.
Salone del Mobile 2023 - new event format
This is the second post-pandemic edition of the fair where we have been able to get a glimpse of the original multi-scale face of the event. The ongoing discussions in the industry about the changes that are and must go into the evolution of exhibition events were reflected in Milan. Open to self-development and improvement, the trade fair organisers opted for a new event format with a particular focus on the visitor experience.
In a wave of this, all stands were located on the ground floor, thus significantly improving the accessibility of the space and enabling us to avoid the arduous task of walking tens of metres vertically. Importantly, there was a strong cultural element to the exhibition spaces, expressed through architecture and art - with exhibitions, installations and various workshops.
The organisers also asserted that traffic was better organised on the fairground and in the individual halls. It is debatable whether a clear and uncluttered traffic flow was actually achieved, but in the case of such a large event, planning visitor traffic is an extremely difficult task. Let us therefore be understanding and appreciate the efforts.
Euroluce - the crème de la crème of this year's fair
Without doubt, the most important component of Salone del Mobile 2023 was the Euroluce biennial. This biennial event dedicated to the theme of light returned in full swing. This year, the title of the exhibition was 'The City of Lights' and the exhibition layout was designed by studio Lombardini22. Euroluce, as one of the Milan Salons, covered the space of pavilions 9-11 and 13-15, and within the City of Lights we could see exhibitions of photographs exploring the relationship between light and architecture or experimental light installations.
However, what interested us most during Euroluce were the amazing products of the best lighting brands from all over the world. The luminaires were presented in a way worthy of the most famous museums or galleries. The soothing darkness filling the exhibition halls provided a soft setting for the king of the show - light. Booth after booth, designed with pomp and Italy's characteristic love of detail, beckoned with gentle streams of light like star constellations snapping up the ink-black night sky.
Euroluce 2023 x Nowodvorski Lighting
Nowodvorski Lighting was one of 13 Polish brands that presented at this year's Euroluce. In love with light, we stood, as usual, in the retinue of those who praise design above all else. What does this word mean? Not only beautiful design, but also high quality, a responsible approach to production and usability that makes life better. At our stand, you could see a whole arsenal of innovations - from the led circles of the CIRCOLO family, to decorative wall lamps and pendant lights in a new, elegant finish, to technical lighting in the form of track light systems.
During the event, we had the opportunity to meet lots of interesting people, get to know the most varied points of view and opinions and have constructive discussions about the light we are passionate about creating for you. The opportunity to present the best of what we have to offer is invariably a great joy for us. Meeting eye to eye with the viewer gives a sense of the meaning of all our efforts to make the light dedicated to you the best, silent companion for your everyday experience.
After six intensive fair days, it was time to close another beautiful chapter behind us under the title 'Salone del Mobile. Milano'. We can't help but thank you for your presence and wish that we can sit down again over a cup of Italian coffee at the next edition of Euroluce.
See you in 2025!
